OPEN SOURCE SCREENLY FOR DIGITAL SIGNAGE
There are many options for using Open Source software for digital signage but we believe that nothing beats Screenly for simplicity, ease of use and functionality.
The Open Source Edition of Screenly is completely FREE and has no limits on storage or usage. The OSE does not need to be connected at all times to the internet (this can be a security issue if you use the same network as your business). The downside is that the OSE requires configuration so you will need some programming skills or we can configure it for you.

Screenly also offers a "paid-for" option which also includes 2 free media players for around £200 per year on a rolling 12 month contract. Whilst this offers great value for money, it does require a permanent internet connection (security issue) as all content is first sent to a cloud server before being shown on your screen. If you loose the internet connection then you loose the screen display. The other downside of the paid-for service is that it does not offer the possibility to do have the media player provide other services such as wifi or embedded web pages which you might want to use at a latter time to enhance your customer engagement. The Raspberry pi and Sceenly OSE are FREE of such restrictions and do not need permanent internet connection.
